Welcome to the Alton Business Club
The aims of ABC are to provide an opportunity for professional networking and referral of business in a relaxing atmosphere over a most pleasant lunch.
Businesses from Alton, the surrounding area, and indeed much further afield, have the chance to meet, learn about each other’s capabilities and discuss topics pertaining to their own business/services or matters which may affect the local community, and offer each other mutual support, business development ideas, peer learning, as well as a platform for new ventures.
The club has approximately 80 members at the moment, covering all sectors of the business world, from IT to Financial Services, from mechanics to translators, from classical guitar makers to virtual PAs, yet new members are always welcome. We do not have any limit on membership of businesses of any one profession – we are all-inclusive and all welcoming.
The Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month at Ye Olde Leathern Bottle (Just off the Community Car Park in the centre of Alton) for a Buffet Lunch at £7 per head. Members start arriving at 12.30 and lunch is at 1 o’clock. Business matters begin at 1.30, which include an up-date on any items of interest relating to the Club. Those attending will briefly introduce themselves and their own company, followed by a speaker(s), normally a Club member, giving an informative presentation or focusing on any issues that need addressing within the local area.
The membership consists of a multitude of different enterprises and is not confined to Alton alone. We seek to bring more skills into the town and local area and as such we have forged strong links with the Alton Chamber of Commerce, the Alton Initiative Manager and other networking groups in the town.
The benefits of belonging to the ABC include the fact that the membership fee is only £10 per annum. There is an on-line directory together with a free monthly newsletter, which is circulated by post to allow advertising material to be distributed and permits those who cannot attend to be kept up-to-date.
It is as easy as A B C to join, just telephone Gill Payne on 01420 562548 for details and an application form now.
